We all need hugs in our lives. Five year old Meagan Bebenek knew this. She loved hugs, animals and making presents for her friends. In 2001 she died of an inoperable brain tumor. Today we continue to honor Meagan and kids like her. And we work to save those children who are fighting for their lives.
Meagan’s mother, Denise, founded Meagan’s Walk: Creating a Circle of Hope. Every Mother’s Day since 2002, thousands gather and clasp hands around The Hospital For Sick Children (SickKids) where Meagan had received such excellent care. This giant human hug sends a message of hope and healing to children inside SickKids and around the world.
Brain tumors are the leading cause of cancer related deaths in young people age 20 and under. SickKids houses one of the few facilities dedicated exclusively to pediatric brain tumor research and is known throughout the world as a leader in children’s health care. Your donation will help SickKids save the lives of kids with brain tumors.
